I painted this landscape one Sunday afternoon in April, 2020. It was such a nice day that I wanted to be outdoors as well as work on a painting, so I went down to Riverside Park. There were lots of people scattered throughout the park all doing their own thing. I found a place on the shore of the river and started painting what was in front of me. Eventually, I noticed that it had grown colder. I looked around, noticing that it had also gotten darker, and that everyone had gone. I was completely alone. Fortunately, I had taken a photo to use in my studio if I didn't get the painting finished that day. I decided to head for home.
