Beebalm
Beebalm is one of my favorite summer wildflowers. It was a real challenge to paint, because its petals are such a variety of shapes, and they appear to be all jumbled up, at first glance. When I was a child, I used to wander in the fields and woods with my little flower identification book from my Grandma Kate, looking for all the wildflowers that were supposed to grow in our area. I never found one of these until I was an adult, and I don't remember the first time I saw one.
