Pelican Two Gulls and a Duck

I painted this picture from photos I took on South Padre Island in 2023. There is a raised boardwalk with bird blinds built over the wetlands by the convention center, and it's a great place to observe local wildlife. The day this photo was taken, this pelican was the only one among hundreds of gulls and ducks, several herons and egrets, and a colony of spoonbills. The pelican was very entertaining as it paddled around, ducking its head under the water and swallowing fish.
