Spotted Knapweed on Lake Superior

Traveling along the shore of Lake Superior on the northern edge of Wisconsin, I this beautiful, delicate flower. It made such a beautiful scene against the backdrop of the lake and clouds that I just had to paint it. When I looked up the name of the plant, I was disappointed to see it called "Spotted Knapweed". I was hoping for something much more poetic to match its beauty. I guess weedy-ness is in the eye of the beholder.
