Squirrel in a Tree
I bought a new 40x zoom digital camera last summer, and started taking pictures of wildlife, particularly the squirrels in my back yard and around the neighborhood. I was delighted with the way the lens acted as a telescope, bringing the squirrels up close. The squirrels also make great subjects for paintings, so I decided to paint a squirrel series, starting with some autumn pictures. For this painting, I used a photo I took on Magnolia Bluff, in Rock County Wisconsin as the background.
