Squirrel Munching a Nut

I love the story behind this piece! I was out walking in an area where I can be in solitude and meditate and pray, and I thought I heard a squirrel chattering up in a tall, very old pine tree. I detected where the squirrel was, about 25 feet up on a limb. I zeroed in on him with my zoom lens, and got several great shots of the squirrel perched up there, stuffing a nut into his mouth. I painted this picture from one of those shots. It's what I call one of my "Messy nature" pictures, because I paint the branches and foliage that I see around the squirrel as it is, without attempting to trim it up or make it neat. Because nature, left to itself, isn't neat or trimmed. It's messy.
