Sunrise Frolic
The mythological flying horse, Pegasus, with the bird wings, gave me the idea that mythological horses could "exist" that have bat wings, too. So I found some visual references of horses, and of bats, and made drawings of the creatures in my mind. For this one, the cliffs and beach along the ocean shore seemed to be a good background. I drew all of it in pencil and used Corel Painter 9 to digitally color it.
Is the winged horse part of a larger herd, or is her owner nearby, letting her run and play to blow off steam? Or is there another story? Can you think of one?
