Sunrise on the Frozen Lake
In this picture, I want to portray the frozen beauty and utter silence of the lake and the snow covered land. The golden sunrise breaks out over the horizon, casting a muted reflection on the frozen lake. A lone buck feels just a hint of warmth on his back, as he turns to disappear into the thick pine forest and hunker down for the day.
I meant this picture to convey the utter silence of the snow covered woods and frozen lake. The sun reflected on the ice really makes it look cold, I think. And yet the deer lives successfully in that environment. Aside from the predators. The deer, lake and trees are all drawn in pencil. I combined that with a digital photo of a sunrise, and then used the cloning tool in Adobe Photoshop to create the reflection.
