Magnolia Bluff Park used to be known as Bump's Bluff when I was a child. It was the location for hikes, sledding parties, and sometimes the annual hands-on science workshop for the neighboring elementary schools. There was even a "cave" that was reported to have rattlesnakes; and one day on a hike with the youth group of my best friend's church, we went to see the cave. It wasn't big enough to stand up in, but I don't know how far back it went. We didn't go inside. I painted this piece from photos I took when, as an adult, one of my good friends and I drove out there to see the sunset. We drove to the top, and walked to the south-west edge of the bluff. Others were there, viewing the sunset, too.
