This piece was inspired by an online fantasy roleplaying game called Gemstone. The characters in the game would go on "quests", and fight against all kinds of evil creatures who would come out and try to kill them. There were certain safe areas where the characters could hide out when they didn't want to be in combat, and one of them was called the "Crypt". The characters in this scene are taking a break from the mayhem outside.
